Our response sheet calculator uses the official IAT 2026 answer key to automatically score your paper from your TCS iON response sheet URL. Follow these simple steps:
| Question Type | Questions | Correct | Wrong | Skipped | Max Marks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MCQ (Single Correct) | ~60 | +4 | −1 | 0 | 240 |
| Total | 60 | — | — | — | 240 |
After calculating your score via response sheet or direct input, here’s how to interpret your subject performance for IAT 2026 admissions:
Score above 40/60 puts you in the top 15% of Physics performers. Mechanics, Electrostatics, and Optics are highest-weightage topics.
Score above 36/60 is competitive. Organic mechanisms and Physical Chemistry numericals dominate IAT papers.
Score above 44/60 is achievable with NCERT mastery. Biology is considered the highest-scoring section by toppers.
Score above 32/60 is competitive. Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Probability carry the most questions.
Our predictor uses a 3-segment piecewise exponential regression model fitted to real IAT 2025 marks-vs-rank data. It accounts for score compression in the 120–170 range and is calibrated against official round-wise closing ranks from R1 through R9. While no predictor can guarantee 100% accuracy (since IAT 2026 exam difficulty and applicant pool may differ), our model provides one of the most statistically robust estimates available.
Based on IAT 2025 data, the final closing rank for IISER Pune BS-MS under the General category was 1,671 (Gender Neutral). For OBC-NCL it was 1,101, SC was 563, ST was 214, and EWS was 464. While IAT 2026 cutoffs will depend on exam difficulty and candidate pool size, these figures serve as a strong baseline estimate.
With an IAT rank of 5,000 under the General category, you have strong chances at IISER Bhopal (cutoff 5,624), IISER TVM (cutoff 6,506), IISER Berhampur (cutoff 8,769), IISER Tirupati (cutoff 8,328), and IISER Bhopal Economics (cutoff 5,668). You would also be competitive for IISER Kolkata (cutoff 4,758) through later counseling rounds. Use the predictor tool above to check exact probabilities for your specific category and gender pool.
IAT 2025 had 9 rounds of counseling (R1 through R9) conducted by the Joint Admissions Committee (JAC). Rounds 1–4 typically fill most seats at competitive IISERs like Pune, Kolkata, and Mohali. Rounds 5–9 (spot rounds) primarily fill remaining seats at Berhampur, Tirupati, and specialized programs like IISER Bhopal B.Tech and Economics.
AIR (All India Rank) is your overall rank among all candidates irrespective of category. Category rank is your rank within your specific reservation category (OBC, SC, ST, EWS). For standard reserved categories, admission is primarily based on category rank. However, for PwD and Kashmiri Migrant categories, the official IAT cutoffs use CRL (Common Rank List / AIR) directly.
All 7 IISERs accept admissions through IAT: IISER Pune, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Bhopal, IISER Thiruvananthapuram (TVM), IISER Tirupati, and IISER Berhampur. Additionally, IISc Bangalore (BS program), IIT Madras (BS-MS program), IIT Guwahati (BS program), IIEST Shibpur (BS-MS program, with 50% West Bengal State Quota), and IACS Kolkata (BS-MS program) also participate in the IAT-based admission process. Specialized programs include IISER Bhopal B.Tech, IISER Bhopal BS Economics, IISER Kolkata BS-MS CDS, and IISER Tirupati BS Economics.
Enter your expected or actual IAT marks (out of 240) in the predictor tool above. Our algorithm uses three distinct exponential segments for different mark ranges: the elite zone (185+), the competitive zone (135–185), and the boundary zone (below 135). Each segment is separately calibrated to capture the non-linear marks-to-rank relationship observed in IAT 2025 results. The predicted rank accounts for the 0.87x global compression factor observed in 2025.
